Laptop & Software Requirements

All Interior Design students not owning a laptop computer with the specifications listed below will need to purchase one for use throughout the Interior Design curriculum. Purchasing a laptop that exceeds the specifications below will ensure that design software runs properly through graduation.

  • Undergraduate students need a laptop in the semester when they are scheduled to enroll in ID-223 Presentation Drawings. For most students, ID-223 is scheduled Spring semester of their second year.
  • Graduate students (First-Professional) need a laptop in the semester when they are scheduled to enroll in ID-223 Presentation Drawings. For most students, ID-223 is scheduled during the second semester of coursework.
  • Graduate students (Post-Professional) need a laptop in their first semester of study.

Laptop Requirements

The Interior Design department requires students purchase a windows laptop. Mac laptops do not support many of the programs used in our program and across industry and are not supported by the department.

Highest CPU GHz recommended.
Autodesk® Revit® software products will use multiple cores for many tasks.

  • SLI (Scalable Link Interface)

Note: ** GPU requirements were updated in the Spring 2020 semester to support Enscape 3D.
