Summer Research Fellowship Program
Each summer, Marymount University’s DISCOVER Research Program awards research fellowships to 15-18 Marymount students. These fellowships, available to both undergraduate and graduate Marymount students, provide a $1800 stipend for students who work one-on-one with a faculty mentor on the faculty mentor’s research project. Students are selected for this award through a competitive process.
The Fellowship runs from May 13, 2024, through June 26, 2024. In addition to the research activities, Fellows participate in weekly community-building, educational, and information-sharing sessions created specifically for the Fellows program. Students are expected to dedicate 12-15 hours weekly to the Fellowship during the 6.5-week program.
Both in-person and remote student participation options are available based on the needs of the individual projects. The fellowship promises to be a very positive learning experience and an exceptional opportunity for professional growth and mentorship.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for a Summer Research Program Fellowship, a student must be a Marymount student in good academic standing. Students who graduate in May or August of 2024 are NOT eligible for this fellowship program.
Students can apply for up to three different Fellowship projects. No more than one fellowship per student will be awarded. Anyone applying for more than three fellowship opportunities will be disqualified.

Some faculty may choose to interview student candidates. This is optional. Be available for an interview the week of April 15th
A final ‘match’ by the Research Committee identifies the best fit for both student and faculty preferences. Notice of the award of the Fellowship should be made by April 29, 2024.
