Our small, collaborative classes within the School of Education are taught by experienced and dedicated subject matter experts in literacy, mathematics, STEM, special education, curriculum and instruction, and educational leadership. You’ll conduct research and attend conferences alongside faculty who will guide your academic career with one-on-one personalized advising — from first-year classes all the way through your 14-week senior practicum and graduation.

  • Experiential learning through internships

With a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Marymount, you’ll put your coursework into practice with fieldwork, internships, and other hands-on clinical environments. Marymount provides you with purposeful learning experiences through established partnerships with local schools and other academic institutions in the Metro D.C. area. Placements are also available in Europe, South America, and New Zealand for half of the required 14-week practicum. We additionally sponsor service learning study abroad opportunities in Columbia, Panama, and Uganda.
