Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel (Main Campus)
Centrally located on the Main Campus, the Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel is a place of quiet prayer and sanctuary in the midst of a bustling campus. Daily and Saturday Vigil Masses are celebrated here. Daily Mass is at 7:30am, and no RSVP is required. Saturday Vigils are at 5:00pm, with a 30 person capacity and RSVP required on Engage - the Vigils will be live-streamed as well. Confession times to be announced for Fall 2020.
Chapel at Ballston Information
Located on the 2nd floor of Marymount's space in the building at 1000 N. Glebe Rd. Arlington, VA 22201. This chapel serves as a quiet place for personal prayer. Due to COVID-19, the Masses at Ballston have been suspended for Fall 2020, but we look forward to having them in the future.
Located on the 1st floor of Gerard Phelan Hall Room 1008, Main Campus, as well as the 2nd floor of the Ballston Center. The meditation rooms are available at all hours. Featuring comfortable chairs, soft lighting, large pillows, it is meant as a place for private/personal meditation. It is open to students of all faiths, especially our Muslim students for prayer.
Weddings, Baptisms & Funerals
These events are not normally celebrated in our chapels, but when appropriate they require advance planning and discussion. All events are to be planned and discussed well in advance with the Marymount University Chaplain.
- Weddings are permitted for current students, with some exceptions for recent graduates.
- Infant baptisms are not normally celebrated here, taking place instead at a person’s home parish. Adult baptisms are permitted for those participating in the Campus Ministry RCIA program.
