Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel (Main Campus)
Centrally located on the Main Campus, the Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel is a place of quiet prayer and sanctuary in the midst of a bustling campus. Daily and Sunday Masses are celebrated here, as well as weekly opportunities for confession, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:00am. In addition to daily Mass and confessions, the chapel is open from 7 a.m. till 11 p.m. or by request after hours.
Chapel at Ballston Information
Located on the 2nd floor of Marymount's space in the building at 1000 N. Glebe Rd. Arlington, VA 22201. This chapel serves as a quiet place for personal prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Masses are celebrated in this chapel on Thursdays at 12:30pm, as well as on Holy Days of Obligation. All are welcome. Thursday's 12:30 PM mass is celebrated in the Ballston Chapel located on the 2nd floor.
Located on the 1st floor of Gerard Phelan Hall Room 1008, Main Campus, as well as the 2nd floor of the Ballston Center. The meditation rooms are available at all hours. Featuring comfortable chairs, soft lighting, large pillows, and prayer rugs, it is meant as a place for private/personal meditation. It is open to students of all faiths. Qurans and Bibles are also available for your use.
Weddings, Baptisms & Funerals
These events are not normally celebrated in our chapels, but when appropriate they require advance planning and discussion. All events are to be planned and discussed well in advance with the Marymount University Chaplain.
- Weddings are permitted for current students, with some exceptions for recent graduates.
- Infant baptisms are not normally celebrated here, taking place instead at a person’s home parish. Adult baptisms are permitted for those participating in the Campus Ministry RCIA program.
