Ready... Saint... GO!
Welcome to Marymount University! The university provides orientation programs for new undergraduate first-year and transfer students, and parents and families. Each program is intentionally designed to achieve specific goals for the unique population.
Students who participate in New Student Orientation will:
- Develop a meaningful connection with the campus community and understand their unique role and place at the university by building connections with other students, faculty, and staff.
- Articulate and affirm alignment between their personal values and the mission of Marymount through a better understanding of the University’s history, core values, and student expectations.
- Demonstrate the value they place on service, inclusion, and diversity.
- Identify campus services and resources that support student engagement, retention, and success.
Spring 2021 Orientation Information
In order to remain responsive to our student needs during this everchanging time, Marymount’s 2021 Spring New Student Orientation will take place online. Beginning December 1, deposited first-year and transfer students will receive information via their Marymount email regarding opportunities for engagement with their future peers. To make sure you receive this important information, please make sure you’ve generated your student account to activate your Marymount email and credentials.
Orientation Leaders, current Marymount students who have been hired for their extensive knowledge about the Marymount experience, and their desire to help other students during the transition to the Marymount community, will be in contact with incoming students throughout the end of the fall semester and beginning of January. Beginning January 4, students will participate in an online NSO course through the Canvas platform, which will provide important information about Marymount services, resources, and programs. This course is designed to help students become acclimated to the institution, and better understand their important role as a member of the Marymount community. Students will receive information on how to access the online content beginning December 1, 2020.
We fully plan to be together in person in the spring and celebrate the arrival of the new members of the Marymount family. However, there will be no on-campus orientation events for parents and guests at this fall, as we anticipate extended social distancing guidelines to continue through the remainder of the year. We will continue to follow CDC recommendations and guidelines to assure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Throughout the summer, we will monitor the situation, and keep you updated throughout the process.
