Library Liaison Program
The Library Liaison Program links library faculty with teaching faculty in a mutually beneficial relationship. The program aims to foster mutual understanding and to provide a vehicle for addressing questions and concerns related to the library’s support of academic programs. Liaison librarians work with the academic departments to:
- Communicate with the teaching faculty about library services, collections, policies, and programs;
- Communicate with the library faculty and staff about academic program needs;
- Develop, analyze, and maintain the library’s resources;
- Select new materials in all formats related to their contact School’s course offerings.
In consultation with teaching faculty and with other library faculty, liaisons identify specific subject areas needing development and analysis, including the level to which existing collections can support new courses and programs. Liaison appointments are made annually among the library faculty.
