College-Level Examination Program

Marymount University participates with the College Board in the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP). Credit may be awarded for the CLEP subject examinations depending upon the score earned. The University follows the guidelines recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE) for awarding credit. The University does not recognize credits earned by CLEP general examinations.

The following information is meant to be used as a general guideline and is subject to change. For currently enrolled students, a course approval form must be submitted and approval granted prior to registering for any examination to ensure that the exam counts toward degree requirements. Original reports must be mailed to the Registrar’s Office. New incoming students should send the original report to the Admissions Office. The examinee copy cannot be used to assign credit. Credit will not be assigned for exams that duplicate coursework previously completed.
