The Bureau of Labor Statistics states, “Overall employment of computer network, systems, and database administrators is projected to increase by 30 percent from 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations.”

Marymount’s IT programs prepare graduates for a robust job market. They assume leadership roles in IT departments of major corporations, government agencies, and government contractors. Their roles include:

  • Managers of enterprisewide networking, including handling responsibilities for information security and assurance
  • Specialists who design and build computer systems with current systems development life cycle methodologies
  • Project managers for complex projects in industry and government, serving as a critical link between IT team members and business professionals to ensure timely project completion within budget constraints
  • Health care IT specialists
  • Database administrators and data modeling specialists in government, industry, health care, and education
  • Enterprise architects

Some even start their own business.
