Omicron Delta Epsilon

Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) is an international honor society in Economics whose roots go back to 1915. It is now a network of more than 450 chapters in the U.S. and other countries, with more than 10,000 active members. It is accredited by the Association of College Honor Societies. Its objectives are

• the recognition of scholastic attainment
• the promotion of closer ties between students and faculty within colleges and universities

ODE publishes The American Economist, an outlet for promising undergraduate and graduate student papers, and sponsors sessions at professional meetings such as SEA, EEA, and AEA. It also sponsors two annual competitive awards, including the Frank W. Taussig Undergraduate Article Award. Winning articles are eligible for publication in The American Economist, and publication often results in citations in other works or requests for the right to reprint the articles in books.

Dr. Terry Long and Dr. Louise Marshall serve as ODE chapter advisors.

Dean’s List

The Dean’s List recognizes students who achieve a level of academic excellence. Students must carry at least 12 credit hours, obtain a GPA of 3.4, and be in good academic standing during a given semester in order to receive this honor.
