Recognition Day 2019


The Recognition Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 10:30 am in the Rose Benté Lee Center, Converse Family Fieldhouse, directly following the Commencement Mass in the Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel.

The Recognition Day Awards Ceremony celebrates the achievements of the graduating class, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. The ceremony includes blessing and investiture of the academic hoods, presentation of the Draghi Outstanding Faculty Award, Academic Excellence Awards, Senior Leadership Awards, and RSHM medal awards.  Learn more about the awards

Immediately following the ceremony, graduates and their guests are invited to the President's Reception in the Gerard Phelan Dining Hall.

Can I bring guests to the ceremony?

Yes, friends and family are welcome at this ceremony and at the President's Reception immediately following.

Do I need to wear my cap and gown?

Answer
Caps and gowns are required for all graduates participating in the Recognition Day ceremony.  Please carry your hoods for the blessing and investiture.

Are tickets required?

Answer
No tickets are required for this event.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.

What time should I arrive?

Answer
Students should arrive in the Lower Rec Gym by 10am to line up for the processional.  The ceremony begins at 10:30am.

Where do I park?

Answer
Parking is available in the Blue Garage, located next to the Library, or White Garage, located under Ostapenko Hall.  Both garage entrances are located on 26th Street and Yorktown Drive.

How do I know if I was nominated for an award?

Answer
All award nominees will be notified via their Marymount email after the nomination submission deadline.

Is this event required?

Answer
The award ceremony is not required, but we encourage all members of the graduating class to attend and celebrate the achievements of their classmates.
