Welcome to Marymount University! We are so happy that you and your loved one have selected Marymount, and look forward to getting to know you over the next several years. Marymount is a unique community, grounded in the rich tradition of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary. We are committed to providing holistic student development through transformative educational opportunities, both in and outside the classroom. This online orientation includes information on the services and resources available to students throughout their time at Marymount. Please take some time to review the information online, and plan to attend our virtual sessions, where you can engage with administration, faculty, staff, students, and current parents to ask any questions you may have about the Marymount experience. 2020 Virtual Parent Orientation Sessions
Parents, families, and guests are invited to attend our virtual Parent Orientation sessions to learn more about the resources, services, and opportunities available to Marymount students. These sessions will be facilitated via Zoom, and will include administration, faculty, staff, and current MU students and parents who will share important information about the Marymount community. Introduction to Marymount and Covid Response - August 3 at 7:00pm
President Irma Becerra and Vice President William Bissett will provide an overview of Marymount University, including our goals for the upcoming year. In addition, they will review the Saints Reunite plan, which provides information on how the university has prepared for a safe and welcoming fall semester.
Academic Schools and Success - August 5 at 4:00pm
Join the Provost, Dr. Hesham El-Rewini, and the Dean's of Marymount's four academic schools to learn more about academic programs and support resources at the university.
Marymount Parent and Family Panel - August 6 at 7:00pm
The parents of current Marymount students will speak about their experience as a MU parent, and share advise on how to best support your student.
Student Support Services - August 10 at 4:00pm
Speak with representatives from Student Counseling, Health, and Wellness Services and Student Access Services about the support resources available for students.
Student Life and Engagement - August 12 at 7:00pm
Hear from representatives from Student Affairs and current Marymount students about how to make the most of the Marymount experience outside the classroom.
Financial Aid and Student Employment - August 13 at 4:00pm
Speak with representatives from Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and the Center for Career Services about how to finance your students education.
Community Standards and Safety - August 17 at 4:00pm
Hear from our Dean of Students, Equity, and Inclusion and the Assistant Vice President of Safety and Security about Marymount's policies, and procedures regarding campus safety and community expectations.
Summary Overview - August 19 at 7:00pm
We will provide a brief overview of the content and topics from the previous sessions.
