April 3 - COVID-19 Update (April 3)

Dear Marymount Community,
Hello everyone, and TGIF! Please see below for our latest announcements regarding COVID-19’s continued impact on campus:
Ballston Center
The Ballston Center will be closed effective 6 pm on Saturday, April 4, through the conclusion of the Governor’s stay-at-home order (which is currently set to expire on Wednesday, June 10). Card access to both the Ballston Center and garage will be deactivated for all Faculty, Staff and Students, with the exception of essential employees. If you need to access the building during this period, please email Upen Malani at with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Leave Donation Program for Faculty and Staff
Since announcing this program on March 30, we had an immediate response with 400 hours donated in two days. The well-being of our Faculty and Staff is a priority, and we want to say thank you for your compassion and contributions! As a reminder, Leave is available for those who may need additional sick hours in the near future. To donate or request leave, click here. For additional questions, send an email to
COVID-19 Wellness Works Program Initiative for All Employees
The Office of Human Resources wants to keep in touch with all employees, especially during these times. We are conducting outreach efforts to stay connected, and ask all employees to review and update their Workday profiles with contact information, including emergency contacts. Next week, we will officially launch a special COVID-19 “Wellness Wednesdays” webinar series (April 8-June 24, from 12-1 pm). All are welcome to participate, so feel free to join us – click here to view the schedule. To register, simply go to the myMarymount Portal and view the calendar. For additional information, contact
And just as a reminder from our message on Monday – Staff and Faculty, please fill out this survey from the COVID-19 Staff & Faculty Well-Being Committee, which seeks to assess our community’s needs while creating and sharing content to help and uplift.
As is typical of the Marymount community, so many of you have offered help and care in various ways. Here is another opportunity – if you would like to donate a new face mask (made or purchased) to our essential personnel still working on campus, please email Laura Finkelstein, our Assistant Vice President of Student Health and Well-Being, who will coordinate your masks going to Staff and Faculty members in need.
I hope all of you have a safe, pleasant and relaxing weekend!
Be safe and healthy, and God bless,
Irma Becerra, Ph.D.
