The Bark Newsletter

Introducing The Bark, our weekly e-newsletter exclusively for the Marymount community. While traditionally serving as a brief overview of upcoming events, we have decided to bring you something different—a newsletter with more comprehensive details. In each edition, we will keep you informed about the exciting events and happenings taking place on campus throughout the semester.

The Bark, delivered to every Marymount email address, is now your go-to resource for discovering events, activities, and opportunities happening on campus for the current week. Look forward to receiving your weekly dose of campus excitement every Monday morning during the fall and spring semester.

One way you can contribute is by submitting articles and columns for publication in The Bark. We welcome submissions from all members of the Marymount community, including faculty, staff, and students. Your contributions can help inform, educate, and entertain our readers, and help to promote events and activities happening on campus.

  1. Write your article or column: Prepare your content, ensuring it is informative, engaging, and relevant to the Marymount community. Keep the word count within 400 words or less and include a headline, author information, and contact details.
  2. Add accompanying photos: If applicable, select relevant photos in JPEG format with a resolution of 72dpi. Ensure each photo has a clear caption describing the action taking place. Attach the photos to your submission email.
  3. Prepare event information (if applicable): If you are submitting event details, include the event name, a brief description (100 words or less), date(s), time(s), and registration/contact information.
  4. Compose your submission email: Create a new email and address it to bark@marymount.edu.
  5. Include necessary details: In the body of the email, provide your article or column, including the headline, author information, and contact details. If you are submitting event information, include it in the email as well.
  6. Attachments and formatting: Attach your article or column in MS Word document format or directly in the email body. Attach the accompanying photos as JPEG files. If necessary, include links to websites or attach PDF files for longer stories or descriptions.
  7. Verify submission deadline: Ensure that you submit your article or column, along with any relevant photos, by 3:00 pm on the Wednesday of the week before the newsletter is published.
  8. Send your submission: Double-check that all the required information is included and accurate. Then, click “Send” to submit your email to bark@marymount.edu.
  9. Await confirmation: You should receive a confirmation email indicating that your submission has been received. If you don’t receive a confirmation within a reasonable time frame, you may want to follow up with the designated contact person, Charlie Price, at cprice@marymount.edu.
