These scholarships are awarded each year through gifts from generous alumni, faculty and staff, friends, and foundations. Alumni Association Board Scholarship

Several 0f the 2008 Reunion classes joined together to create the Alumni Association Board Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a student who has high academic achievement and is the family member of a Marymount alumnus. Once endowed, the Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time undergraduate student whose parent or grandparent is a Marymount alumnus.

Black Alumni Book Scholarship (Annual)

The Marymount University Black Alumni Network established this scholarship to assist with the often overlooked expense of college textbooks. This scholarship is awarded to students who have at least a 2.8 GPA and have financial need.

Class of 1956 Memorial Scholarship

To commemorate their 50th reunion, the Class of 1956 endowed a scholarship in memory of their classmates who had passed away. This scholarship is available to an undergraduate student with financial need.

Class of 1958 Memorial Scholarship

When the Class of 1958 celebrated its 45th Reunion in 2003, they wanted to remember their deceased classmates in a very special way. Led by Barbara M. Clark and Maureen “Mo” Gallagher Gibbons, the Class of 1958 endowed this scholarship fund to ensure that their legacy and spirit will live on at Marymount University in perpetuity.

Circle of Friends Scholarship

Upon the occasion of their 35th Reunion in 2003, members of the Class of 1968 wanted to do something special to honor the lifelong friendships they began as students at Marymount. Several class leaders, including Maureen McKinney Kane, Katharine Lawlor Gilbert, Rae Forker Evans, and Mary Ellen McDonough Yeager, made generous personal gifts and began raising money from their classmates to create this special scholarship fund. The Scholarship is awarded annually allowing the spirit of friendship from the Class of 1968 to live on at Marymount forever.

James Shelton Memorial Scholarship

In 2007, the Men’s Lacrosse Alumni Network established the James Shelton Endowed Scholarship to help the Marymount community honor James Shelton, the beloved Marymount shuttle driver who retired in 2006 after 20 years of service. The Marymount family was saddened by Mr. Shelton’s passing in April 2008, but his memory will live on through this scholarship. Once endowed, the Shelton scholarship will be awarded to first-year Marymount students who have exemplified leadership qualities through extra-curricular activities and community involvement.

Lisa Kristen Ola Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was founded in 2002 by London alumni who wanted to support current students studying abroad with the London Program. After the May 2003 death of Lisa Ola ’91, MBA ’94, her family, friends, and fellow London alumni made gifts to endow this scholarship in her honor. It supports two students studying in London each term.

Pablo Coto Memorial Scholarship

Pablo Coto was a student leader and a gifted athlete in the Class of 1993. He collapsed on the basketball court during his senior year and died shortly thereafter due to a rare and undiagnosed heart condition. His classmates and family members raised money to begin this scholarship in his honor, which is awarded annually to a senior. Additional gifts will increase the scholarship award.

William C. Frogale Alumni Scholarship

A former Marymount trustee founded this scholarship to honor the tradition of a Marymount education. The scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate who is a graduate of a Marymount school or is the child of a graduate of a Marymount school or university.
