Reaching a key milestone in Marymount’s ongoing implementation of Workday
, the university’s human resources and payroll systems went live through the state-of-the-art software on Monday, Sept. 30.
This is the first phase of a multiphase rollout of the cloud-based system, and was accomplished in less than nine months. Functions for finance and student applications on Workday will be implemented at later dates.
Workday is an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) which will replace many of Marymount’s current systems over the next few years, and will become the means for managing data, processes and people across campus. Marymount will be able to grow and improve its business practices by updating its technological infrastructure with Workday, a key goal within the university’s five-year strategic plan, “Momentum.”
The project is locally branded as “SaintsConnect,” because it will help the university community easily “connect” with each other to operate more efficiently.
Marymount’s operational efficiency will be significantly improved with Workday thanks to streamlining processes and moving them online, thus eliminating many paper forms. These include job postings and hiring, employee time entry, benefits enrollment and much more.
As a modern ERP, Workday is optimized for mobile devices to allow users to access information and initiate business practices in real time from their phones. Employees can download the Workday mobile app from Apple or Google to easily interact with the software while on-the-go. The use of two-factor authentication also improves the security of data by using industry best practices and world class support.
