Annual Interfaith Forum: "But, Are You CERTAIN?"

Religious faith des not always mean that we cannot question belief. Join us for this year's Interfaith Forum, when we'll host Rev. Mark Schaefer and Dr. Jin Y. Park, both of American University, in a discussion of faith, truth, and knowledge in Christianity and Buddhism. Rev. Schaefer is the AU Chaplain, whose most recent book is "The Certainty of Uncertainty: The Way of Inescapable Doubt and its Virtue". Dr. Park is Professor of Philosophy and Religion and Founding Director of Asian Studies Program at AU. She specializes in Zen and Huayan Buddhism and in postmodern philosophy.

Work Visa Options for International Students Immigration Lawyer Presentation.

International Student Advisor will explain the process for graduating students on how to apply for        CPT /OPT followed by Attorney David Gluckman who will give a presentation on Work Visa Options for International Students and Graduates.  Mr. Gluckman works with employers all over the United States, and partners with attorneys who work with other universities and participate in NAFSA conferences. He will discuss the most common work visa options available to international students, allowing them to stay and work in the US after graduation.  Topics will include Optional Practical Training, the H1B application and strategies for dealing with the H1B quota.  He will also discuss permanent resident green card options for those who may qualify.  There will be plenty of time for questions and answers. 

Lunch will be provided.

23nd Annual International Banquet

Marymount's International Week concludes with the 23nd annual semi-formal International Banquet. The banquet, which has been a sellout event for the past 22 years, will feature exotic food from around the world, cultural performances, and a fashion show featuring traditional attire from a variety of countries. 

This exciting event also allows us to embrace the diversity of Marymount! The banquet is open to the entire Marymount community, so do not miss your chance to attend!
