The Local History that NOVA Parks Preserve

Thursday 07:00 PM - 08:30 PM

The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority (NOVA Parks) system owns some of the most important historic sites in the region. Chairman of NOVA Parks Mike Nardolilli will discuss the creation of NOVA Parks 60 years ago and the history that can be found in the three parks in Arlington (Potomac Overlook, Upton Hill, and the W&OD Trail) and elsewhere in the NOVA Parks system. Find out how Northern Virginia wound up with its own regional park system and what history each preserves in this special presentation commemorating 60 years of NOVA Parks.

This event is part of a monthly series of public programs sponsored by the Arlington Historical Society and Marymount University's Department of History & Politics.

Location: Main Campus, Library, Reinsch Auditorium
