Since 1982 I have worked the majority of my RN career in critical care as a staff nurse and then as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. In 2013 I completed my doctorate at Duke University and began teaching at Marymount University. My research continues to focus on critically ill patients. I continue to practice at the bedside as a PRN staff nurse in the PACU at INOVA Fairfax Hospital (Falls Church, VA).
Active member of local chapter (GWAC) of American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) – Chair of Education Committee for Spotlight Annual Conference.
President of Eta Alpha, local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI).
