Uma Kelekar is an Associate Professor of Healthcare Management at the School of Business Administration of Marymount University. She teaches graduate-level courses in healthcare reimbursement, health economics, data analysis, and epidemiology. She serves as the program director and chair of the Healthcare Management program.
Uma has extensive research experience in the healthcare field pertaining to the themes of policy, public finance, economics and epidemiology. She has published book chapters and articles in journals such as Health Policy and Planning, WHO South-East Asia Journal of Public Health, and World Medical and Health Policy. She has presented her work at various academic and practitioners’ conferences.
More recently, she has been doing research in dental economics and has contributed as a consultant to medical foundations and associations ranging from local to national in scale.
She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).
She has a PhD in Public Policy from George Mason University. Her undergraduate and masters are in economics from India.
