International Graduate Students

  • Students who are not U.S citizens or U.S. permanent residents (green card holders) as well as all students with any non-U.S. academic records are considered international students.
  • A graduate student is someone who has, or will attain, a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university prior to enrollment.

Admission Requirements for International Graduate Students

  1. Completed application with the $40 application fee.

  2. Certified, official transcripts of all college or university work completed.

  3. For university coursework completed outside the U.S., an official course-by-course evaluation of your transcript is required from one of these approved evaluation agencies:

    World Education Services, Inc.
    World Educational Credentials Evaluators
     
  4. Students for whom English is a second language must submit a recent official score from the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic exam.

*Doctor of Physical Therapy applicants must apply through a centralized service (PTCAS).

*Doctor of Nursing Practice applicants should contact the Office of Graduate Admissions for information.

Application Deadlines

The application for admission and all supporting documents must be received no later than the date indicated for the corresponding semester.
  • Fall semester (begins in late August) – July 1
  • Spring semester (brings in mid-January) – October 15

Application Decision and Communication

  • Your application is considered complete once the application and all supporting documents have been received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Once the application is complete, the admissions committee will review the application.
     

    Students will be notified via email if their application is incomplete.

  • For international students living outside of the U.S., your admissions decision will be communicated via e-mail only.
  • For international students living in the U.S., your admissions decision will be communicated via e-mail and postal mail. 

Once You're Admitted

Once you are admitted and have decided to make Marymount your home for your undergraduate education, there are several processes that take place. 
  • Submit your deposit online or return the Enrollment Notification Form that was sent with your acceptance letter, along with your enrollment deposit. Make sure to submit your deposit and confirm your enrollment as soon as possible.
  • Generate Your Student Account to gain access to the Marymount portal, email, Canvas, and other internal Marymount sites.

  • Obtain an I-20(pdf.)

    If you need an I-20 (certificate of eligibility) for an F-1 student visa, you must submit the following documents:

    • International Student Supplemental Information and Declaration of Finances (ISSI). 
    • Passport ID

    • Bank Statement showing the following:

      • $38,400 (U.S. dollars) for graduate students

      • $38,680 (U.S. dollars) for graduate business students

      • $58,900 (U.S. dollars) for Doctor of Physical Therapy students.

        This bank statement must be signed and stamped by a bank official and dated no earlier than three months prior to the issuing of the I-20.
