Scholarships

Marymount University offers a variety of scholarship opportunities to help freshman students meet the costs of their education. The Net Price Calculator is a tool designed to help you estimate your financial aid options for MU, which may include the following:

Marymount Virginia Residential Grant

Answer
This $1,500 grant is offered to all full-time freshman applicants from Virginia who live on Marymount's campus. It is renewable for up to four years of study, provided the student stays in on-campus housing.

Marymount Out-of-State Residential Grant

Answer

This $2,000 grant is offered to all full-time freshman applicants living in US states and the District of Columbia but outside of Virginia and who stay in campus housing during their time at Marymount. It is renewable for up to four years of study, provided the student stays in on-campus housing 

Spirit of Service Scholarship

Answer

This competitive, renewable $2,000 scholarship is available to students with a record of high academic achievement and extensive volunteer service experience with school, church, or community organizations. Recipients are expected to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and must complete 60 hours of community service per semester.

Priority consideration will be given to scholarship applications received by March 1. Later applications will be considered on a funds-available basis.

Clare Boothe Luce Scholarship for Women in Science and Mathematics

Answer
This competitive scholarship provides women majoring in Biology, Mathematics, or Information Technology (Computer Science specialty) with full tuition and room and board for up to four years. Applicants should be U.S. citizens with a record of high academic achievement and an interest in teaching or research in math or science.

Priority consideration will be given to scholarship applications received by February 1. Later applications will be considered on a funds-available basis.

Honors Program Scholarship

Answer

Freshmen admitted to the Marymount University Honors Program may be eligible for an additional scholarship award. Admission to the program is very competitive. Applicants should have a 3.5 high school GPA and a 1200 SAT (CR / M) or 27 ACT composite score.

The Honors Program have strict application deadlines and must be completed by:

  • November 1 for spring entry AND fall entry
  • January 15 for fall entry
  • March 1 for fall entry
