Types of letters Marymount can provide:

Academic Certification Letter – These letters currently take 10 business days to be completed and they include the following information:

  • Number of credits required for the program of study
  • Total number of transfer credits accepted
  • Total number of transfer credits applied toward the program and university requirements
  • Total number of credits complete at Marymount
  • Total number of credits earned (includes transfer credit)
  • Total number of developmental courses
  • Total number of credits remaining to graduate
  • Total number of online or hybrid courses
  • Total online credits expected to be taken until the end of the program
  • Total number of credits in the current term
  • Expected graduation date
  • This letter is written on Marymount University letterhead.
  • Note: This letter can only be issued to include all of the information above. Letters will not be issued for single items listed above.

Tutoring Letter – these letters take 3 business days to be completed.

  • If you are using a tutor outside of Marymount for a course, please email the course title and/or number (i.e. MKT 310).
  • Tutoring letters will only be provided during the semester you are taking the course and cannot exceed a month after the end of the semester in which you took the course. For example, if you used a tutor during the Spring 2019 semester, you could request the letter at any point during the Spring 2019 semester and would have an additional 30 days from the end of the semester to request a tutor letter. The Spring 2019 semester ended on May 11, 2019, so students have until June 11, 2019 to request the letter. After 30 days, you may no longer request the letter for a previous semester.
  • If you are requesting a letter within the 30 days after the end of the semester, you must indicate in your email that you were using the tutor throughout the semester.
  • This letter is written on Marymount University letterhead.

Conference Letter – these letters take 3 business days to be completed.

  • If you are interested in attending a conference and your sponsor requires a letter supporting your attendance at this conference, please email the conference information.
  • The Office of the Registrar will forward the information to your Associate Dean and/or Program Director.
  • If the Associate Dean and/or Program Director support attendance at this conference, you will receive the completed letter within 3 business days.
  • If they do not support attending the conference, Marymount University cannot provide the letter.
  • This letter is written on Marymount University letterhead.

Expected Graduation Date Letter – these letters take 3 business days to be completed.

  • The expected graduation date letter includes the student’s degree and program or major and the date they are expected to graduate.
  • If you are requesting an expected graduation date for the end of the current semester, you must have a graduation application on file with the University.
  • This letter is written on Marymount University letterhead.

Enrollment Verification – this request can be completed within a business day.

  • The enrollment verification is not provided in letter format but is a standard print out that provides information related to enrollment at Marymount University.
  • This information includes: all semesters of enrollment, start and end dates of each semester the student is enrolled in, number of credits enrolled, number of credits completed, full-time or part-time status, expected graduation date, and student’s program.
  • The enrollment verification is printed on Marymount University paper.

Schedule Print Out – this request can be completed within a business day.

  • The schedule print out is not provided in letter format but is a standard print out that provides the student’s schedule for the requested semester.
  • The schedule includes information related to course location (Main Campus, Ballston Center, or Online) and the meeting times of the courses.
  • The schedule print out is printed on standard paper and stamped with the Marymount University raised seal (this does not scan) and signed by the University Registrar.

Degree Completion Letter – these letters take 3 business days to be completed.

  • The degree completion letter may only be requested after the student’s degree has been conferred.
  • The degree completion letter includes the student’s degree and program or major and the date their degree was conferred.
  • This letter is written on Marymount University letterhead.
