Mini-Mester Information

Marymount University will be offering several "mini-mester" courses in 2020-2021 Academic Year. These are intensive, 8-week courses offered throughout the semester.

Fall 2020 Important Deadlines

Fall 2020 First Mini-Mester Session:

  • Dates: August 24, 2020-October 17, 2020
  • Last day to add: August 26, 2020
  • Last day to drop without academic record: August 28, 2020
  • Last day to drop with 100% refund of tuition and fees: August 28, 2020
  • Last day to withdraw with a grade of W: September 25, 2020

Fall 2020 Second Mini-Mester Session:

  • DatesOctober 19, 2020-December 12, 2020
  • Last day to add: October 21, 2020
  • Last day to drop without academic record: October 23, 2020
  • Last day to drop with 100% refund of tuition and fees: October 23, 2020
  • Last day to withdraw with a grade of W: November 20, 2020

Spring 2021 Important Deadlines

Spring 2021 First Mini-Mester Session:

  • Dates: January 19, 2021-March 13, 2021
  • Last day to add: January 21, 2021
  • Last day to drop without academic record: January 25, 2021
  • Last day to drop with 100% refund of tuition and fees: January 25, 2021
  • Last day to withdraw with a grade of W: Feburary 1, 2021

Spring 2021 Second Mini-Mester Session:

  • DatesMarch 15, 2021-May 8, 2021
  • Last day to add: March 17, 2021
  • Last day to drop without academic record: March 19, 2021
  • Last day to drop with 100% refund of tuition and fees: March 19, 2021
  • Last day to withdraw with a grade of W: March 26, 2021

Frequently Asked Questions


Q: I am a current Marymount student. Can I take a Mini-Mester course?
A: Yes! As long as you are not already enrolled in the course and have not taken a W grade in the same course in the same semester, you are eligible to enroll in a Mini-Mester course. 

Q: How do I search for a Mini-Mester course in My MU Plan?
A: In "Search for Courses and Course Sections" in My MU Plan, select the "Advanced Search" tab. You can then select "1st Mini-Mester" or "2nd Mini-Mester" from the "Course Type" drop-down. Please use this guide for more information about searching for Mini-Mester courses.

Q: How do I enroll for a Mini-Mester course?
A: Students may register for Mini-Mester courses through My MU Plan. If you have any difficulties registering, please contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@marymount.edu.


Q: How much does a Mini-Mester course cost?
A: Each Mini-Mester class is a three credit course. Marymount's standard tuition and fees apply. 

Q: I'm interested in applying to Marymount and enroll in the Mini-Mester. Will I qualify for any financial aid?
A: All students applying to the Mini-Mester will be considered non-degree. Non-degree students are not eligible for scholarships or financial aid. For more specifics about cost or available payment plans, please contact our admissions office.

Q: I'm a current MU student. Will my existing financial aid apply to the cost of the mini-mester? 
A: Yes! If you're a full time, degree-seeking MU student, our standard tuition and fees apply. Remember, you must pay standard credit hour costs for any credit hours over eighteen per semester. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid if you have additional questions.
