Think Like a Freak: How to Think Smarter in College
Inspired by the book by Levitt and Dubner
Marymount University is excited to offer incoming first-year students the opportunity to travel abroad as a part of this Discover 101 class. This unique opportunity will allow students to travel together as a class with a Marymount faculty member and staff.
Learn the ins and outs of living in an increasingly connected world with a class that blends cultural exploration, guest lectures, reflective reasoning and discussions. Led and taught by MU Economics professor Dr. Catherine England, this Discover 101 course will be part of students’ standard course load in the fall, but will offer students the unique opportunity to travel as a group prior to Marymount’s New Student Orientation in August.
- Gain independence and increased self-confidence
- Hone your intercultural communication skills
- Boost your résumé and increase your employability
- Make friends and connect with faculty and staff before your first semester
♦ August 13-19, 2019*
* Mandatory program orientation will take place on Sunday, August 11, and Monday, August 12. Students who are living on-campus will be able to move into their housing on Saturday, August 10.
Living Learning Community (Optional)
As part of this program, students are encouraged to take advantage of a special Living Learning Community (LLC) that is designed for this group of students. Students who choose to take advantage of this LLC will live in Berg Hall, amongst fellow classmates and participants on this program. They will have the opportunity to move in early and they will have access to living and learning spaces that are designed exclusively for them!
