Study Abroad & COVID-19
A letter from the Center for Global Education:
Dear Marymount Community,
As the worldwide situation regarding Coronavirus continues to evolve, the Center for Global Education is closely monitoring developments and making program changes as warranted. The Center for Global Education is in communication with on-site partners, receiving regular updates, and ready to support our students in any way that we can.
In the meantime, we encourage you to stay up to date on advisories issued by the Centers for Disease Control and the US Department of State.
We understand that this is a difficult time for our global community, and we empathize with all countries and people impacted by COVID-19. It is during times like these that we are continually reminded of the importance of the work that we do and the importance of coming together to solve world issues. Please know that the Center for Global Education remains committed to advancing the global perspective at Marymount.

Will Marymount still have Global Classroom Series courses in Spring 2021?
The Center for Global Education is continuing to move forward in planning our Spring Break global programs for Spring 2021. We understand that these are uncertain times, but the CGE remains committed to advancing the global perspective at Marymount. The CGE is actively working with faculty and our partners to evaluate each of these programs individually. If there is a need to cancel any of these programs, students will be notified by late November.
Can I still plan to study abroad in a future semester?
Absolutely! While many study abroad programs may not be running in Fall 2020, it is never to early to start planning your study abroad experience. We recommend scheduling an appointment with a study abroad advisor and speaking with your academic advisor to explore how study abroad fits into your academic career.
How can I stay globally engaged during this time?
The CGE is still working diligently to help students, faculty, and staff stay globally engaged during this time. Many of our partners are offering Virtual Global Internship options and some virtual study options. To explore any of these virtual opportunities, please contact the Center for Global Education.
