This career focused course provides a unique opportunity for students to gain real-world, hands-on professional experience.

The world’s most comprehensive fashion sourcing event in the world, SOURCING at MAGIC is where brands, designers and sourcing executives gain access to global resources spanning the entire supply chain:

"MAGIC is the global pillar of fashion tradeshows. Twice annually, 60,000+ industry insiders meet in Las Vegas to shop 11 can't-miss markets, each tailored to a unique look or trend. With 85 years of experience and attendance from people from over 120 countires, MAGIC moves fashion forward globally. From the fabric to the finished product, the hottest brands to the top designers, and the tastemakers to the power buyers, if it's fashion, you'll find it at MAGIC."

Through participation in a one-of-a-kind conference series, students will benefit from insight into new trends, innovative technologies, and important industry intelligence. Students will also learn the ins and outs of the business side of fashion, network with industry professionals, discover possible job opportunities, and learn about the global impact of the fashion industry. Through classes and career-focused workshops before and after MAGIC, students will harness the benefits of the experience to advance their professional and academic goals.

What Marymount students say about Study Away: Vegas

“I highly recommend this program to students who are interested getting into the fashion industry. I made friends in the program and at MAGIC. It put me in touch with many individuals in my field, as well as recent grads who had a lot of advice. It gave me something to look forward to when I get out of college.”

“Professionals offered insightful advice and info. I learned there’s a variety of job opportunities other than being a buyer or designer. It gave me insight on how to run a business, keep a global conscious, use technology effectively, etc.”

“The opportunity to see industry professionals from so many parts of the world and hear them speak about how they’ve achieved success was invaluable. You really get a feel for the business side as well as the creative side of things.”

“It helped me see what I want to do more clearly. My goals have changed but not in a bad way, my goals and possibilities have just opened up!”

“Before I came on the trip, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do after college. But after going to the trade show, I have a better understanding of what I want to do.”

“My participation in the program only affirmed what I want to do for a career. My career goals didn’t exactly change but I’ve narrowed in exactly what I want to do because of the seminars I attended.”
