Marymount University is excited to partner with Bishop O'Connell High School to offer our first Global Summer Institute Program. This unique opportunity will allow high school students to learn about British politics and society, as they experience life and culture in the heart of London. Students will also have the option to earn 3 college credits, transferable to many higher education institutions, including Marymount University.    

Led and taught by Dr. Margaret Tseng, Professor of Politics at Marymount University, this Summer Institute course will introduce students to college-level coursework and will blend cultural exploration, guest lectures, reflective reasoning, and group discussions. Students will also be accompanied by Mr. William Betthauser, Social Studies teacher at Bishop O'Connell.

  • Tower of London
  • Guided tour of the Houses of Parliament
  • Daytrip to Oxford
  • Daytrip to Bath and Stonehenge
  • Various guest lectures

Passport Information

Please note that students who do not have a current passport are welcome and encouraged to apply. However, please be aware that if your passport expiration date is before January 22, 2022, you will need to renew your passport. If you do not have a current passport, you must apply early. It may take as long as 12 weeks for processing. Students are responsible for all costs associated with obtaining a passport.
