NASA Partnership

Marymount University is the only Virginia partner with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Professional Development Network. This affords students unique hands-on learning opportunities “providing them with sustained access to NASA resources and assets,” according to NASA.

As part of the partnership, Rick Varner, an aerospace educational specialist from the Goddard Space Center, visits Dr. Usha Rajdev’s Science Methodology class every semester and provides professional development training related to the Earth and Space unit, helping pre-service teachers prepare for their own classroom activities.
