This Global Health Field Experience will lead students to Groningen, Netherlands to compare the U.S. healthcare delivery system to that of the Dutch System. The roles of different health care professionals will be defined and examined. Students will reflect on how long-term care and end-of-life are managed in the Dutch System. Emphasis will be placed on healthcare management strategies used in different countries to manage resources to improve delivery of care and health status.
By participating in this program, students will be able to:
- Compare and contrast the Dutch health care system to that of the United States.
- Understand the nature of long-term care management and end-of-life issues under the Dutch system.
This trip will include field visits, and lectures at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
