Student Work & Research
Student research is enthusiastically promoted. Each year, mathematics and science faculty collaborate on various research projects with undergraduate students, from freshmen to seniors, and many of these students receive summer stipends for their participaiton.
Recent projects have included modeling the spread of infectious diseases and modeling cellular development in the brain. Some Mathematics majors collaborated with Professor of Mathematics Elsa Schaefer, who led one exciting research project involving the study of ways to slow the spread of cholera.
