Marymount Professor and Alumni Speak on ASID panel

Marymount University was well-represented at a recent American Society of Interior Designers panel discussion, with three alumni and Interior Design Department Chair Douglas Seidler talking about the connection between education and the industry, issues surrounding mentorships, and how the needs of emerging professionals may be shifting.

Moira Gannon Denson and Stephanie McGoldrick received a merit award for their joint entry, “Universal Design-athons at Marymount University and Mount Ida College,” where they teach, respectively.

Mariotti a Finalist in Design Competition (Mar 17, 2016)
news16-gabby.jpgMarymount University graduate student Gabrielle Mariotti was one of seven finalists in the 2016 Bienenstock Interior Design Competition for her work on a day spa specializing in treatment for multiple sclerosis patients.


Marymount ID Student Wins 3rd Place in PAVE's 21st Annual Student Competition

The Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) is announced Arjun Kainth as 3rd place winners of the 2015 PAVE Student Design Competition sponsored by Kroger. This annual competition is geared toward college-level students involved in retail planning, visual merchandising, and branding programs.


Marymount ID Students Help Create Urban Farm (Oct 07, 2015)
news15-dcbia.jpgStudents and faculty members from Marymount University’s Interior Design program spent a recent Saturday with their sleeves rolled up, working with hundreds of other volunteers to turn an underused plot of inner city land into what’s now being called the largest urban farm in Washington, D.C.

Marymount Student Honored in Interior Design Competition (Jan 26, 2015)
news15-furman.jpg“The idea was to do something unconventional,” said Heather Furman, a senior from Gaithersburg, Maryland, who incorporated four cubed rooms with angled beams and furniture designed for active seating, along with a variety of media, from white boards to digital technology.
