Beta Beta Beta
Beta Beta Beta is a society for students dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Founded in 1922, TriBeta is nationally recognized as a force in spreading the knowledge of biology through education and research. Marymount’s chapter Eta Kappa was founded in 2001, and each year inductees who meet the academic requirements are inducted into the society.
The Science Club works as an internal network of support for Biology majors and as an external outreach to bring science into the community surrounding the University. Many activities are planned on an annual basis and all are welcome as we explore the science around us, create support groups in the sciences and bring our science to the outside community. Meetings are publicized on campus, and membership is open to the entire student body.
Women in Science Living-Learning Community
The Women in Science Living and Learning Community is an opportunity to share a floor of a residence hall with others who have similar interests and goals. Study groups are encouraged. Field trips and other social activities are planned throughout the semester that will build lifelong relationships between the members of the community. Faculty involvement is a hallmark of this program.
