First Year Students
It is recommended that applicants to the traditional four-year B.S.N. program have taken high school biology and chemistry. Students entering Marymount as first year nursing students adhere to normal First Year Undergraduate Admissions requirements.
Transfer and Accelerated Nursing Applicants
Admission is competitive. Nursing applicants are strongly encouraged to submit the application and supporting documents before the following deadlines to ensure enough time for review, processing, and the arrival of any additional materials:
Spring 2019 admission
- First Review Deadline: September 8, 2018
- Second Review Deadline: October 12, 2018
*Please complete your application ahead of time to ensure a spot in the review. A contingency review may or may not be added based on space availability.
A complete application consists of the following:
- the application itself with a $40 application fee
- official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
- one letter of recommendation
- the ATI-TEAS test results or waiver
- a written Personal Statement
Accelerated Second-Degree Program Applicants
Accelerated BSN Students must complete the following prerequisite courses:
- Anatomy & Physiology with Lab I (4 credits)
- Anatomy & Physiology with Lab II (4 credits)
- Microbiology with Lab (4 credits)
- General Chemistry (3-4 credits)
- Developmental Psychology/ Human Growth & Development (3 credits)
- Nutrition (3 credits)
- Sociology (3 credits)
- Statistics (3 credits)
Upon notification of acceptance, all accepted students must submit a $300 enrollment deposit and register for classes during the first available transfer orientation session. Pertinent information will be included in the student’s acceptance packet.
Required natural science courses must have been completed within the past 10 years as of your program's start term. All courses must be completed with the equivalent of a C grade or better.
Applicants must have a competitive score on the Assessment Technologies Institute Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI-TEAS). The exam is required for all transfer traditional applicants. Accelerated second-degree applicants who have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university and who have earned a composite undergraduate GPA of 2.8 or higher may be waived from this requirement. It is recommended that applicants who have earned a C or less in any program prerequisite submit ATI-TEAS scores even if they have been offered a waiver.
