Open Educational Resources

The library’s Open Educational Resource (OER) Team formed in response to a growing need for low or no-cost textbooks and other educational resources.  We want to partner with our teaching faculty members to increase awareness of Open Educational Resources (OERs) on campus. OERs are freely accessible, openly licensed textbooks, documents, and media that are useful for teaching, learning, and assessment.
"The average student should budget $1,249-$1,364 for textbooks and course materials"-- College Board

Your library liaison and the OER team members are making every effort to be available to you as you explore OERs and incorporate them into your pedagogy.  We’d be delighted to meet with you:

  • In-person
  • Via WebEx or Google hangout
  • Over the phone
We can help with:
  • Choosing an open textbook
  • Identifying open journal articles
  • Exploring other OER possibilities

"The average borrower owes more than $28,950 in student loans." --The Institute for College Access and Success

News, resources, and training materials related to OER will be available on the Library OER Guide. If you are interested in bringing OER to your classroom, please contact your library liasion or email us at:
