Faculty Services

Accessing Library Resources

Access MyLibrary resources from your home or office. Need a video for your class? Search for and request DVDs from Marymount and other WRLC Libraries or find streaming media for classroom use. Search Journal Finder and library databases for full-text articles and a variety of electronic resources. Use LinkMaker to post articles on your Canvas site.

Borrowing Materials

To request books, chapters, journal articles, and other materials through the Consortium Loan Service (CLS) use the MULibrary Search. To obtain items that are not available from Marymount or other Consortium libraries through Interlibrary Loan, complete the interactive ILL form.

Faculty Reserves

Find out how to place material on reserve for your courses. Submit the Reserve Request Form (online) or print the Reserve Request Form (PDF). If you plan to put student papers or projects on reserve, please complete the Student Coursework Consent Form.

Faculty Retrieval Service

Request items held at the Marymount library through the MULibrary Search and pick them up at the Circulation Desk. When selecting a book or video, choose Reinsch Library from the “Pickup at Institution” pull-down menu on the request page. In approximately three to four hours, you will receive an email letting you know that the item is available.

  • If anything is unavailable (missing, checked out), the request will be automatically forwarded to a different university. We will not place a hold on the MU item.
  • Faculty, staff, and students may request library materials from the main campus to be delivered to the Ballston Center. To do so, select Ballston Coakley Library Extension from the “Pickup location at home institution” pull-down menu on the request page, and it will generally arrive the following day.

Library Instruction

Schedule a Library Instruction class to help your students develop information literacy skills and search strategies and use research tools. Contact your library liaisons to request a library instruction session.

Library Liaison Program

Subject specialist librarians facilitate faculty and student access to library resources. Learn more about L&LS liaison program here.

Proxy Patrons

A Marymount graduate or undergraduate student or university employee may be designated to charge out materials for individual faculty members or departments. Contact the library Circulation Desk at (703) 284-1533 or email: mucirc@marymount.edu to set up proxy patron service.
