Strategic Planning

  • Created Forward Together Visioning document and revised Marymount University’s Mission Statement
  • Developed and executing Building the Institution of Choice: Marymount’s Strategic Plan 2013-2018
  • Designed and executing Common Ground reputation building campaign
  • Developed strategic plan for alumni relations

Business Affairs

  • Implemented Ideas at Work employee incentive program to reduce costs and generate revenue
  • Created service quality program for the institution to drive retention and quality of work life
  • Created mystery shopper program
  • Implemented Retirement Incentive Program
  • Refinanced existing debt resulting in substantial savings in annual debt service

Development and University Advancement

  • Finalizing $40 million dollar capital campaign, the largest in MU history
  • Alumni participation rates doubled since FY12
  • Donor numbers at a historic high
  • Faculty and Staff giving increases
  • Increases in the total number of student donors

Academic Affairs

  • Improved undergraduate retention approximately 10 percent
  • Implemented a market focused, academic program review process
  • Numerous community connections with academic programs (e.g. Physical Therapy Center with Medstar National Rehabilitation Center)
  • Created ‘place based’ new programs (Graduate certificate in Association Management; B.B.A. specialization in Purchasing & Contract Management; doctorate in Cybersecurity)


  • $18 million renovation of Rowley Hall (residence hall, office, academic)
  • Renovations of Gailhac Hall (academic), Lee Center (athletics), Main House (office and reception), St. Joseph Hall (office and academic), and the Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel
  • New wayfinding system
  • Enhanced landscaping on main campus
  • Added $8 million in deferred maintenance projects 
  • Completed 165,000 sq. ft. academic building and 256,000 sq. ft. apartment building (with private developer) at the Ballston Center off-campus site.


  • Added five new teams to our existing DIII program to drive enrollment management strategies (men’s volleyball, baseball, women’s golf, men’s and women’s triathlon.  Marymount is the first in the country to field NCAA varsity triathlon teams)
  • Creating new athletics conference for private, faith based institutions

Catholic Identity

  • Renovated the Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel
  • Created Gailhac Circle – Faculty and Staff emersion into the RSHM
  • Created Catholic Identity document describing the MU identity
  • Enhanced relationship with Diocese of Arlington
  • Created Founder’s Day to educate and celebrate our founding order, the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary 

Quality of Work Life

  • Formed the first Staff Council
  • Designed a campus wellness program, including elimination of tobacco products on campus
  • Continuous assessment and action plans developed to improve MU climate
