Continuing Employment

Because Marymount’s operations are based on the academic calendar, student employment positions are available during the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and during the summer. In order for Marymount to effectively manage the administrative side of each student’s position on campus, academic year positions are opened at the beginning of or during the fall and spring semesters and closed after the spring semester. Summer positions are opened following the closing of academic year positions and closed prior to the opening of the academic year positions.

What does this mean for you?
Spring semester to summer/fall semester

If you want to continue in a position for the summer or the following year (fall semester) you must sign off on your Performance Evaluation that your supervisor will complete at the end of the spring semester. Your paperwork will be issued for that next employment period (summer and/or fall) only after the evaluation is completed by both you and your supervisor. You are required to complete new paperwork with Human Resource Services prior to beginning your position in the summer and/or fall.

Summer to fall semester
If you begin a new position over the summer and want to continue for the fall you and your employer must complete the Continued Employment form. This will allow all parties involved to agree on continued employment and prevent the need to reapply to that position. You will, however, be required to complete new paperwork with Human Resource Services prior to beginning your position in the fall.
