Living-Learning Communities

The Office of Campus and Residential Services at Marymount University offers three special opportunities for first-year and upperclass undergraduate students with similar academic interests to live and learn together in selected communities.

Each Living/Learning and Theme Community provides its residents with an atmosphere dedicated to academic success and student support. These communities offer frequent interaction with discipline- or program-related faculty, weekly group study sessions, and special lectures and gatherings arranged for the enrichment of their residents.

The Women in Sciences Community
Located on the fifth floor of Rowley Hall, this community is designed for female Biology and Health Sciences students. Residents will have the opportunity to participate in field trips as part of their community experience.

The Honors Community
This community is designed for members of the Marymount Honors Program and will offer field trips to local museums, graduate school information sessions, and other activities throughout the year. The location for the community has not yet been determined as it will be placed based on the number of applicants. This community is open to both male and female Honors Program students.

Marymount University Global Thinkers Community
This community is a residential community for both U.S. and international students, geared toward diversifying global knowledge and enhancing mutual respect and understanding among students of different backgrounds. Members will be engaged in a number of cross-cultural programs and experiences to enhance their sensitivity to diversity and the promotion of social justice across borders. This community is open to both male and female students and is located in Gerard Hall.
