Dr. Catherine England joined the Marymount University faculty in August 1998 and became associate dean of the School of Business Administration in August 2006. Dr. England has taught both finance and economics courses, reflecting her interest in the operation and regulation of financial institutions and other types of businesses. Dr. England developed and introduced the Business and Economics of Sports course in fall 2004, which was the first course in the School’s Sport Management sequence. Dr. England is currently interested in better understanding what cultural differences cause countries to choose alternative economic and political courses.
Before joining Marymount, Dr. England was a faculty member in the School of Management at George Mason University. Prior to beginning her academic career, Dr. England worked as a private economic consultant, as Senior Editor of Regulation magazine at the Cato Institute, and as a regulatory policy analyst at The Heritage Foundation. She has edited three books and has published a number of articles, particularly in the area of financial institution regulation.
