Dr. Catharine Kopac's first love is geriatrics, and she has been an advanced practice nurse since 1976 when she completed her master's in Nursing at the Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests are in older adult health and complementary and alternative medicine. She has taught in graduate and undergraduate Nursing programs for several decades.
In 2007, she completed a second doctorate in Ministry, where her dissertation focused on the use of narrative to study tranformation in the lives of professional nurses.
She maintains a clinical practice as a nurse practitioner and ethicist consultant in Adult Protective Services in Fairfax County.
