Portfolio in Motion 2011

Marymount University's Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising programs proudly announce Portfolio in Motion 2011, our premier student fashion event. Students in these nationally recognized programs, unique in the Washington metropolitan area, develop exceptional skills and knowledge needed for success in the fashion industry. Our graduates have gone on to work in top fashion houses, as well as the fashion publication and entertainment industries.

Portfolio in Motion is the culminating academic project for Marymount Fashion students, and every aspect - from the jury-selected student designs and model try-outs to show production - reflects their academic and creative efforts. Each senior designer receives a portfolio critique from an outstanding fashion industry professional who attends the show on Marymount's Arlington campus. The University's Designer of the Year Award is presented to our featured guest designer each year. Junko Yoshioka will accept the Designer of the Year Award at Portfolio in Motion 2011. And the University is excited to announce that fashion journalist Robin Givhan will receive the inaugural Excellence in Fashion Journalism Award.

The annual Portfolio in Motion fashion show, a traditionally sold-out event that draws fashion-savvy individuals from the Washington, DC, area will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011, with additional performances on Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16. Support for Portfolio in Motion sustains the program and funds scholarships for deserving students. Learn more about tickets for each show.
