Family Program

We believe that supporting the family of our students helps to improve a student's success. Therefore, we have developed a Family Orientation program for all parents and guests that attend orientation. This program is designed to provide you information about Marymount's resources and services and answer any questions you have about your student's experience and what to expect from your time as a part of the extended MU family.

Family of first-year or transfer students beginning classes in spring 2013
We invite you to attend our Spring Orientation Session (SOS) with your student on Thursday, January 10 (inclement weather date, January 11). At this session there will be:
  • a resource fair to get information about resources and services at Marymount
  • A family specific session that will help to prepare you for your role in your student's experience at Marymount
  • many opportunities to interact with staff and faculty on campus
  • time to go to the bookstore and take care of other business.
We will do our best to answer your questions. If we can assist you in any way before or after the orientation session, please do not hesitate to contact us at mykidis@marymount.edu.

Family of first-year students beginning classes in fall 2013
During the summer, all first year students and their families are invited to campus to attend one two-day session. It is mandatory that students attend these sessions so please plan accordingly. In addition to the information we have planned for new students, we have designed a program specifically to address your concerns as a parent or family member. Even if you are familiar with Marymount or have already sent one student to college, you can benefit from our Parent Orientation program. Families are an invaluable support system for our students, and we’ve found they benefit greatly from learning more about Marymount University and their student’s future college experiences.
