York, Pa. – Marymount University’s Katelyn Fischer was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Fischer scored a career-high 31 points in a loss to former CAC foe Catholic in the Saints’ lone game of the week.
In addition to her 31 points, Fischer added five assists, four rebounds and three steals. She contributed to more than two-thirds of the Saints offensive output in the game while shooting 68 11-for-16) percent from the field and 60% (3-for-5) from downtown.
For the year, Fischer is averaging 23.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.3 steals per game. She is shooting a stellar 59.2% from the floor and a sizzling 45.5% from three-point range.
Marymount (1-3) returns to the hardwood on Monday as the travel to Towson, Md., to take on another former CAC foe in Goucher.
