Arlington, Va. – Marymount University women’s lacrosse senior Tancy Weatherford scored her 100th career goal in a 17-3 loss to top-ranked Salisbury in Capital Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon. Despite the loss, the Saints clinched a return to the CAC Tournament after a one-year hiatus.
Weatherford reached the milestone with 4:27 remaining in the second half. Megan McGuirk and Catherine Powell each scored for the Saints as well while Chelsea Ritter added an assist.
Cecilia Pasquale, Kiki Niebuhr and Michelle McCormick all hauled in a pair of ground balls on the day. Pasquale, Stephanie Flood and Molly Maher each caused two turnovers while Ritter and Powell both pulled down three draw controls.
Niebuhr collected seven saves in goal for the Saints in the loss in 45 minutes of play.
Allie Wheatley led the Sea Gulls with five goals.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday as it travels to face CAC rival Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va.
