Washington, D.C. – Marymount University’s volleyball team split a tri-match on Saturday afternoon. The Saints dropped the opener against former league rival Catholic 3-1 (26-24, 24-26, 25-22, 25-17) before topping Misericordia 3-1 (15-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-23) in the finale.
Against the host Cardinals, Jenn Forbes led the Saints (3-8) with 15 kills at a solid .303 hitting percentage while Christine Gallart added eight. Melissa Warren paced the offense with 33 assists and notched a double-double with 12 digs.
In the win over Misericordia, Erin Allison led the way with 12 kills while Marymount recorded six service aces as a team. Defensively, Forbes owned the net with five blocks while Cassidie Watson had 19 digs.
Marymount returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts York (Pa.) in Capital Athletic Conference play.
