Women’s Cross Country Places Fourth, Men Seventh at CAC Championships
Salisbury, Md. – Marymount University’s women’s cross country team posted its best finish at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships in program history with a fourth place showing while the men’s squad placed seventh overall.
Melissa Teeple finished in fifth place for the Saints, earning her only the second First Team All-CAC accolade in program history while Elizabeth Long garnered Second Team recognition with her 12th-place finish. The pair is the first in program history that two Saints collected All-CAC honors in the same season.
Teeple finished fifth overall on the women’s side with a time of 22:45.30 while Long was 12th in 23:19.10. Payton Bodecker placed 35th in 24:38.90 followed by Katie Maloney in 57th place, Charlotte Knopf in 58th and Jessica Butler in 64th.
On the men’s side, Collin Chartier was the top finisher with a 21st place showing in 26:53.60. His sub 27 minute performance in the 8K is a program record at that distance.
Carlos Elizondo followed in 35th place with a time of 27:23.40. Kevin Farmer finished 100th, Joseph Kenny was 102nd and Matt Ward placed 104th for the Blue and White.
