Women’s Lacrosse Falls to CAC Rival UMW
Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s women’s lacrosse team dropped its final regular season home game of the season with a 19-11 loss to Capital Athletic Conference rival Mary Washington on Wednesday afternoon. The Saints fall to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in league play.
Megan McGuirk led the Saints with three goals and an assist while Stephanie Keane added two goals. Stephanie Flood and Chelsea Ritter both chipped in a goal and an assists while Molly Maher, Taylor Johnson, Rachel Duff and Lindsay Bullock each scored as well.
Flood added five draw controls to pace MU while Ritter had four and Maher grabbed three. Jarrett Miller led all Saints with four ground balls while Flood added three.
Rebecca Durkin caused a pair of turnovers to lead the Blue and White.
In goal, Kiki Niebuhr (7-6) collected 21 saves between the pipes in the loss.
Jenna Petrucelli led Mary Washington (9-6, 4-2 CAC) with five goals.
Marymount returns to action on Saturday as it closes out the regular season on the road at CAC foe St. Mary’s (Md.).
