Men’s Basketball Falls in Exhibition at Navy

Friday, November 09, 2012
Annapolis, Md. – Marymount University’s men’s basketball team fell 75-48 in a preseason exhibition game at Division I Navy on Friday night. The Saints open their regular season on Friday, November 6.

Antonio Rouse led the Saints with nine points while Marcus Carmon and Reed Scott both added eight.

Carmon pulled down a team-high seven rebounds while Scott added five.

Brenden Cuyler dished out three assists for MU.

The meeting between the two programs was a coaching reunion of sorts as Navy head coach Ed DeChellis was an assistant at Penn State while Marymount head coach Chris Rogers was a player for the Nittany Lions. Midshipmen associate head coach Dan Earl was also a teammate of Rogers in the PSU backcourt during their playing days.

Marymount opens the 2012-13 regular season on the road at the Misericordia Tournament on Friday, November 16. The Saints open against Marywood before facing either the host Cougars or Baptist Bible.
