Arlington, Va. – Marymount University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams capped off a pair of wins over the weekend by hosting the Northern Virginia Family & Youth League Basketball Day along with the first of two Pink Zone games.
For the Family & Youth League Basketball Day, contests and prizes were awarded throughout the day and all teams were recognized during half time. In addition, students from nearby Taylor Elementary School performed at halftime of the women’s game. Following both games, the Saints hosted a pizza party for all the teams that attended.
The first of two Pink Zone games, the Saints collected $260 to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Marymount also donned pink uniforms during the game and will look to do so again on Wednesday in the home finale at 6 p.m.
