Marymount to Participate in Virginia Private College Week

Tuesday, July 09, 2013
Marymount University invites rising high school juniors and seniors and their families, as well as college students interested in transferring, to participate in Virginia Private College Week from July 29 to August 2.

The annual Virginia Private College week is organized by the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV) and recognized by a proclamation from Governor McDonnell.

Marymount is one of 24 private colleges in Virginia that is participating and offering campus tours and information sessions about academic programs, financial aid, and the admission process. Students who visit three participating institutions or more during the week will receive application fee waivers to use at any three CICV member institutions they choose.

This is a time for students and family members to explore the advantages that a Virginia private college or university can provide – from small classes and opportunities to conduct original research to a close-knit campus community and chances to take on leadership roles. It’s also a time to learn about financial aid options that make a private college education very affordable. Students weighing college options should consider the factors most important to them as the look for the best fit for themselves. What’s right for one person might not be best for another.

Marymount information sessions (including a campus tour) will be held
- July 29 - August 2 at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- Saturday, August 3, at 9 a.m. only

To participate in a Marymount session, please fill out the online registration form, or call the Admissions Office at 703-284-1500. And, for more information about Virginia Private College Week, including a full list of participating colleges, please visit the CICV information page.
